Hoping to purchase a new basketball hoop, Eliot discovers a more efficient way to raise money.
Description
It's been almost a year since I made a movie. I'm not sure how I let that happen... again. I've been trying to think in terms of "bigger" and "better" but I don't know if I'm ready to start a "real" project, with a budget and a crew and a storyboard and a... yeah, a budget.
So, I decided to make this movie while we were staying at my grandfather's house this summer. I think any project like this is good practice, and I also wanted to test out my brand-new camera, and to figure out how best to edit HDV. In spite of the simplistic/predictable story, this is one of the most complex things I've worked on. It's over 10 minutes long (probably too long) and actually includes -gasp!- scenes. Pretty much every other movie I've made happens in one time and place, but this one spans more than one day. And, this movie also has dialogue, which I've done very very little of. (The audio is very poorly recorded, I know. It won't happen again!)
On another note, the video file that you are watching above is the ONLY copy of this film I own. My full-resolution QT file mysteriously disappeared from my Portfolio folder, and from both of my Portfolio folder backups! So keep track of your files!
Anyhow, definitely not my best work but I really hope you enjoy it anyway. Let me know what you think!
