Video Sketch 01 – “Confidence”
For my Film Theory and Application class this quarter I’m going to be making a few “Video Sketches” — short film explorations/experiments.
Here’s my first Video Sketch, composed of a number of quick shots I took at this pretty ridiculous party I went to in Minneapolis.
I initially shot this stuff as potential insert shots for a project I was working on over the summer. In a way, the camera insulated me from the party, and gave me a sense of purpose. I felt surprisingly comfortable because I was just documenting– I had a reason for being there.
Anyway, I kinda like how this turned out. Let me know what you think!

Yo Colin. Nice short. Where did you shoot it?
Also,
I have some spare time on my hands this quarter and I was wondering if you have any projects you need a hand on. I’ve been itching to do something outside of school work. I also find your work amazing and am hoping to learn a few things in being involved with your projects.
I like your work
=:-))
Subject, wild. Photography, priceless.
Hey Colin,
You are indeed a talented individual. Could you share the artist and name of the song used in this short?
Thanks!
Hey Ryan, thanks! The track is Kernkraft 400 by Zombie Nation.
