This year I decided to enter the PSAID competition again, which is focused on promoting cash donations, rather than the donation of goods, as the best method for disaster relief. Last year I won second place with “In Dire Need”, which you can watch here.

Unfortunately, I found out today that I did not make the final round.
I didn’t put as much time into this as I would have liked, but I’m pretty satisfied with the way it came out. Well, I’m satisfied with the latter 15 seconds. Well, I guess just the shot of the quarter. That shot is pretty cool.
But I finished it and got it out on time, and although it’s not my best work it’s certainly worth showing! Also, the music for this spot was done by Jasper Blunk. Let me know what you think.

It’s taken me a couple months to get to this, but I wanted to post the good news anyway.

Happy April Fools! It’s been over almost two months since I’ve updated my blog, but I’ve got a lot of stuff coming up. Stay tuned!
But first, here’s my third and final Video Sketch, which deals a little bit with the issue of inspiration, and the fleeting nature of ideas. This one is a little out there, but I think it turned out surprisingly well. Check it out:

The amazing music was composed by Jasper Blunk.

This is the second in a series of video sketches for my Film Theory and Application class. The assignment was to deal somehow with the “issue of representation”.
When you’re doing a self portrait, you become very conscious of how you are representing yourself. It’s necessarily subjective. I thought it would be interesting to make a self portrait comprised of other people’s impressions of me. It offers a certain level of objectivity to the process. However, I edited this piece together from over two hours of material, so this same project could have been radically different.
So let me know what you think!

This is my first collaboration with the talented composer Jasper Blunk. I think the music added a lot to the project!

Welp, I’ve finally given in.
I’ve resisted for a long time, bemoaning the quality of YouTube videos and the senselessness of youtube comments. I thought my website was pretty much the only place my work should be seen online– in high quality, and in context with my other work.
But uh, in a bizarre turn of events, youtube videos now look better than the videos on my site. So now, you can watch much of my (newer) stuff at HD quality.
Check them out here!
I think my philosophy has changed a little bit– the more stuff you have out there, the better, right?
